1. Introduction

Fusion Labs Limited ("we," "us," or "our") believes in being clear and open about how we collect and use data related to you. This Cookie Policy applies to any Budj product or service that links to this policy or incorporates it by reference, including the Budj Mobile App, the Merchant Dashboard, and our Website.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website or use an application. They allow us to recognize your device, remember your preferences, and improve your user experience.

In addition to standard cookies, we may use similar technologies such as:

  • Pixels/Tags: Small blocks of code on webpages that do things like allow another server to measure viewing of a webpage.
  • Mobile Device Identifiers: Unique identifiers associated with your mobile device (e.g., IDFA for iOS or AAID for Android) used to track app usage and performance.
  • Local Storage: Storing data directly in your browser or device to save preferences (like your "Keep me signed in" status).

3. Why We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for several reasons:

A. Strictly Necessary (Essential)

These are required for the operation of our App and Website. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into the Merchant Dashboard, access secure areas of our website, or ensure the security of M-Pesa transactions. You cannot opt out of these.

B. Performance & Analytics

These allow us to recognize and count the number of visitors and to see how users move around our App and Website when they are using it. This helps us improve the way our Services work, for example, by ensuring that users are finding the cashback offers they are looking for easily.

C. Functionality

These are used to recognize you when you return to our Services. This enables us to personalize our content for you, greet you by name, and remember your preferences (such as your preferred language or region).

D. Targeting & Advertising

These cookies record your visit to our Services, the pages you have visited, and the links you have followed. We use this information to make our App and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests (e.g., showing you exclusive offers from merchants near your frequent locations).

4. Third-Party Cookies

In some cases, we use third-party services that may set their own cookies. These include:

  • Google Analytics / Firebase: To analyze user behavior and app performance.
  • Advertising Partners: To help us deliver targeted advertisements and measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.

We do not control these third-party cookies and recommend that you check the privacy policies of these third parties for more information.

5. Managing Your Cookies

On the Website/Merchant Dashboard

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer.

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data.
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Block all cookies.

Note: Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from logging into your Merchant Dashboard or using key features.

On the Mobile App

You can control tracking on your mobile device:

  • iOS: Go to Settings > Privacy > Tracking and toggle "Allow Apps to Request to Track."
  • Android: Go to Settings > Privacy > Ads and manage your advertising ID preferences.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated.
